John Taylor Chapman Endorsed By A-PACE and Other Organizations

John Taylor Chapman, candidate for Alexandria City Council, is endorsed by the Alexandria Political Action Committee for Education. A-PACE is the political action arm of the Education Association of Alexandria.
“As an educator, the A-PACE endorsement is one of the highlights of my campaign,” said Chapman. “It is an honor to have the faith of my fellow educators in my candidacy for Alexandria City Council.” As a citizen and candidate, Chapman advocates for increased access to pre-K educations, greater out-of-school activities and increased fiscal accountability and transparency in the Alexandria Public School system.
John Taylor Chapman was endorsed by The PAC of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender Democrats of Virginia. “The endorsement from the Virginia Partisans cited my work on the city’s Commission on HIV/AIDS and my civil rights work as president of the Alexandria NAACP,” said Chapman. “I am extremely proud of what these organizations achieved during my tenure and I’m happy to have the endorsement of the LGBT Democratic Community of Virginia.”
Laborers International Union of North America also endorsed Chapman. “We felt John was a good fit for Alexandria because he understands the critical issues in the construction industry,” said LiUNA. “He is a supporter of local hiring for Alexandria development projects, living wages for workers and will fight against discrimination against workers in a heavily Latino workforce. We believe John will be able to bridge the gap between business and labor and bring good-paying jobs to Alexandria workers, which will increase the standards of living across the board.”
Additionally, Chapman was also endorsed by two Alexandria political action groups: Democrats for a Better Alexandria and Securing Alexandria’s Future. “I have been involved in Alexandria all my life,” said Chapman. “As a fourth-generation Alexandrian, this is not just my community, but part of my family. I plan to eventually raise my children and see my grandchildren grow-up in Alexandria.”
The endorsement from Democrats for a Better Alexandria cited Chapman’s focus on good schools, affordable housing and transparent government. Securing Alexandria’s Future endorsed candidates who possess a “broad understanding of issues and understand the importance of sustainability.” All endorsements can be seen at: http://chapman4council.com/endorsements.
